Gary Gibson of VA said this: “I ordered my copy already this morning. If I laugh as hard as I did this morning it will take me a long time to read it coz I’ll be rolling on the floor every five minutes trying to catch my breath.. Just sayin’.. :-* ” – We told him, “Yes, it has its share of #FunnyStories. But don’t fret, there’s a few very serious stories that may #BlowMinds.”  #GulliblesTravelsRaw.com

Excerpt from Chapter 1 – “Genesis…in the Beginning”

Gullible’s Travels: Raw & Uncut by J. Lee Webster

Excerpt from Chapter 1 – “Genesis…in the Beginning”:

It’s the late Disco 70’s. John Ravolta is staying alive and Dexter plays
rugby. Ryleigh is not sure how he got into that, but doesn’t care.
She had never heard of this sport before. And watching it, it seems so
barbaric and rough. She laughs at the funny thing called scrums.

San Diego is California’s most southwestern coastal city, where the long,
flat beaches go forever and the small, smooth grain sand squishes
between your toes. The wet gray-beige sand will appear somewhat offyellow
when dry. Not quite white. It changes colors. The closer to Mexico
you get, the grayer it becomes. In the summer sun, the darker sand
is guaranteed to burn feet. Bikinis and water sports abound.

The temperate climate is generally mild and pretty stable. It’s known as
a micro-climate, which is great for the county’s many wineries. If the
rain falls, most likely it would be in the winter to spring months. Generally,
April to December can be very nice. It’s common to have a morning
marine-layer along the coast, but sunny by afternoons. If a day
doesn’t start out sunny, it usually will get that way somewhere in town.
San Diegans are most definitely solar-powered.

Excerpt from Prelude – “Part 2 – Svengali and Bo”:

I’ve been married about one year to the most gorgeous, athletic
man. How did I get so lucky?

Even though he’s is a little bit older than me by 8 years, he’s taken control
and completely swept me off my feet. He gives me sweet-nothing
cards for absolutely no reason, brings me flowers and adores me, as I do
him. He’s so romantic. He steals me away. I have no idea I am his trophy
wife in his mind.

I’m so in love…

…I fart butterflies, and I dream in fairy tales.

I’m a fucking naïve idiot.

Review of the Book

Gullible’s Travels: Raw & Uncut by J. Lee Webster

Review of the Book:

Simply put this is a delicious slice of living, about really being alive for a troop of young ladies, if true, about the unexpected. “Horlarious” if I may sneak a term of the author encourages the “Yeah, this really happened,” and there is no reason to argue. There are many descriptions this read could adorn but I’m kind if keen on Escapades de Vengeance Féminine. “100 shades purpler…without the whips and S&M”.

Perhaps that should give you an idea of the travails you will find endearing.

Excerpt from Prelude – “Part 1 – A Virgin”

Gullible’s Travels: Raw & Uncut by J. Lee Webster

Excerpt from Prelude – “Part 1 – A Virgin”:

It is a crisp, chilly and clear southern California winter night. The
hard packed dirt and gravel of the make-shift High School softball
field, with two blades of grass in the corner of the field…okay, make that
three blades of grass, because I tend to exaggerate
…scrapes our knees and
causes bruises and cuts when we hit the ground.

And we hit it HARD. You can hear the thuds and feel the cement-hard
ground vibrate. Did they build this over a concrete parking lot? There are more
raspberries here than at a Roadrunner-Wiley Coyote spitting contest.

We don’t really know what the heck we are doing. I’m 20 and we think we
are invincible. Somehow we have to stop the other team from advancing the
ball past us, and our coach has taught us to “hit ‘em hard, hit ‘em low”.

“I wish everyone would read the bonus book in the back before the election.  It’ll open your eyes and thinking. We need to stop thinking individually, but as one.”

Excerpt Chap. 43 – Back in the USA

….She gets home to the warm nose greeting of gazillions of wet kisses from her loving, faithful dogs. “You guys are the bestest doggies ever! How’s my little punkin-pusses?” she says in baby-talk, as she kisses and hugs them back.

Their tails are wagging so hard, that their backsides are tailfishing Ryleigh, almost knocking her down, as they whimper and cry their hello’s.

She spends a day unpacking and catching up on her emails and appointments coming up. She hasn’t seen her longtime girlfriend, Streak, in months and months! Not since the last local, ladies rugby tourney Surfers Alumni party earlier this year!

Her old team, the Surfers are still in force today. But instead of having many teams locally to play, the league has dwindled a bit…..

….Streak is coming to town, and Ryleigh has invited her over for a visit. She’s excited! She can’t wait for the laughter she knows will come, and catching up. She hopes she can stay a couple of days. Streak is still a wild-child, even today.

She’s also still a brick-hoowse. When that song comes on by Commodores, the men in the room have told her that the song is describing her. She smiles and takes it as a compliment, as well she should. It applies to Streak too.

She also notes that she has the roofer coming tomorrow for a patch job. She completely forgot about that appointment that she made a month ago! “Ugh, I can’t cancel it again!”, she laments.

It’s a warm evening. Ryleigh pours a glass of wine, and softly turns on the entertainment sound system. She looks around the room of her conservative home, and sees that empty bottle of Marque Vue on the shelf, that she has since turned into a vase.

She smiles at it and releases a poignant sigh. Ah, the good times…it seems like it was not long ago. It’s funny how it’s all come full circle. I do miss the original fun though. I wish I knew then what I know now, though.

She reaches into her cupboard and pulls out her old picture albums for Streak, and there, staring at her with one eye, and a broken earring…is Mrs. Bottle.

She gently pulls her out and brushes her off. She fixes her hair, and sets her in the middle of the table, smiling. “You look like you’ve had a few too many, and a bad night! Stop snickering at me!”, Ryleigh laughs back at her….
